The government of Dubai wished to ensure their health and hospital services could offer a standard of care commensurate with international standards. They commissioned a review of hospital operations across the emirate and of the nursing profession and care.
Carramar’s Director, Jane Yacopetti, was engaged by the government of Dubai to work on a twelve month project. She became the project leader for the nursing review and led a team to conduct a comprehensive review of the nursing services and regulatory framework. The project included a workforce review, a competency assessment process, and recommendations for the nursing committee and regulatory structure for the future.
All recommendations of the final report were accepted. Jane Yacopetti was subsequently engaged to assist in the recruitment of a chief nurse to implement recommendations and actions for regulation. A chief nurse was successfully recruited.
As a result of the positive outcomes achieved, Carramar was engaged to undertake further work designing and running an education program for nurses in Dubai. The Department of Health and Medical Services in Dubai were delighted with the projects and Carramar was invited to put forward extra proposals to continue this and other programs.
