Northern Beaches Health Service Redevelopment

Project Description

The Northern Beaches Health Service Redevelopment project began in 2012. Redevelopment would redesign the health services to support the changing needs of the community. The project included developing the Northern Beaches Hospital, a 488-bed facility that will be designed, built and operated by a private provider in a public private partnership arrangement. It also includes the redevelopment of Mona Vale Hospital and the development of a number of community health facilities.

In 2014, governance arrangements for hospital services underwent a transition into two statutory authorities, Top End Health Service and Central Australia Health Service. At the same time, it was recognised that due to changes in specialist services, increasing demand for imaging services, and growth in the number of private providers, a review of imaging services across the Territory was required.

The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital is a large tertiary level facility providing health services to the population of Brisbane and Queensland. The hospital was in need of a comprehensive clinical services plan. The plan’s goal was to improve the health service delivery and business performance to better meet the needs of a population, including the most effective use of resources.

Queensland Children’s Hospital Project

Project Description

The Queensland Children’s Hospital project was the development of a tertiary level paediatric facility on a complex Brownfield site. The project brought together two tertiary level paediatric facilities into the one facility and involved all stages of infrastructure planning from design to commissioning.
